Amanda Turnbull has over 30 years’ experience in media brand management across consumer magazines, newspapers, digital media, Pay TV and Free-to-Air TV Broadcasting.
She runs her own business acting as fractional CEO and ‘thinking partner’ for clients in the media, culture, and entertainment sectors, consulting on business transformation, M+A opportunities, new product development and strategic value creation.
Amanda is a global nomad, always choosing to live in complex high-growth markets across Asia Pacific, Russia and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa while working for Time Warner, Hachette Filipacchi, South China Morning Post, Hearst and Discovery Inc.
Between 2014-20 she ran Discovery’s operations across Middle East, Africa, and Turkey. She doubled top line revenue in six years, launched seven new channel brands, a complete digital AVOD /SVOD ecosystem and was recognized by peers as MENA Broadcast Executive of the Year 2019.
Amanda has an MA in History from Cambridge University, an EMBA from Hult International Business School and is currently enrolled on the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma. She sits on the Executive Board of The Central European University, is a Founding Board Member for Impact Entertainment Media, and is a Founding Committee Member for the TECOM (Dubai Government) Media Incubator Programme.
